NAB Electrical Intertie Transmission Study

Kuna Engineering conducted a comprehensive pre-feasibility study to explore the potential for new electrical transmission lines connecting the communities of Noorvik, Selawik, and Kiana, with a separate study focusing on the connection between Ambler and Shungnak. This detailed report examined similar transmission line projects implemented across Alaska and identified the resources needed to initiate and execute the plan once approved.

The study carefully considered Right of Way (ROW) requirements and presented optimal route recommendations supported by detailed maps and thorough documentation. Additionally, it provided a review of environmental considerations, construction costs, and permitting requirements for each proposed transmission line route, ensuring a clear and actionable path forward.
